I hate to say it but it looks to me like this forum with the B5 is not fit for purpose anymore ..

Questions unanswered no Mods getting involved anymore ...it's a sorry state of affairs..

Suppose it had to happen one day as the b5 became less and less on the road...

It will only be of some use to someone on past questions and answers on previous posts..

Sad but true...

I can say for myself that I do follow this forum and will offer suggestions or advice if I feel that the information can be helpful. Unfortunately for me, I no longer have either of my B5s :grumpy:.

If this is true, then it makes me feel a little sad. The B5 section was my entry point to ASN more than twenty years ago, when I bought a 1999 2.8 quattro sport saloon.

Similar position. Used to have a 2001 2.5 TDI V6 quattro sport avant, (aka Amtrak locomotive) but its long gone. I dip in from time to time, but these cars are now approaching 25 years or older, so not unexpected for B5 section to be quiet.

I still check that Audi on MOT check and it was over 200k miles but sadly SORN.

I’m not sure what you expect a mod to do unless they happen to have the answer to your question.

As with any car that’s 25+ years old, they are thin on the ground. The fewer there are on the road, the fewer owners use forums, the less people there are to answer your questions.

Like it or not there has been a huge shift away from the forum platform towards social media over the last 10 years or so. That goes for everything, not just the old models.

If you’re looking for a quick answer to a problem, I’d suggest trying one of the many B5 Facebook pages.

Forums will always provide a brilliant back catalogue of problems and solutions even if they aren’t frequented as much as they used to be. I hope they stick around!
