Good Morning,
I've had the Engine Management Light show on my 2014 A6 190PS Ultra and VCDS has produced a fault code P2002 00 [11101100] - Efficiency Below Threshold. Full VCDS readout is here:
19226 - Particulate Trap Bank 1
P2002 00 [11101100] - Efficiency Below Threshold
MIL ON - Intermittent - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
Freeze Frame:
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 7
Mileage: 170868 km
Date: 2024.08.15
Time: 00:35:10
Engine RPM: 1568.50 /min
Normed load value: 49.0 %
Vehicle speed: 61 km/h
Coolant temperature: 89 C
Intake air temperature: 69 C
Ambient air pressure: 1000 mbar
Voltage terminal 30: 12.940 V
Unlearning counter according OBD: 40
Exhaust mass flow of low-pressure EGR: calculated: 3.013
Differential pressure ratio: low-pressure EGR: 23.6 kg/h
Exh.recircul. 2: differential pres.sensor 1 bank 1: adap. value: 27.7 hPa
Exhaust recirculat.2: different.press.sens.1 bank 1: raw value: 29.9 hPa
Exh.recircul.valve 1 bank 1: pos.feedback - Actual value: 77.04 %
Exhaust recirc.valve 2 bank 1: posit.feedback - Actual value: 41.82 %
Exh. gas recirc. 2: diff. press. sensor 1 bank 1: dyn. value: 25.0 hPa
Readiness: 1 1 0 0 0
I have reset the fault once and it has reappeared. I have put diesel and adblue cleaner in the car to help.
Initial research indicates this could be an issue with the EGR Valve and/or the EGR cooler. With this in mind, I have the following:
1) Is there a way I can test for the EGR Cooler or EGR Valve? I know VCDS has options for sensors so what should I select and what should I be looking for?
2) What does the code P2002 00 [11101100] - Efficiency Below Threshold mean (in particular the [11101100]
3) If it is the EGR Valve/Cooler, what is the best way to remove it? I have seen videos going from below and the top.
4) Linked to 3, are any specialist tools needed?
5) Linked to 3, I have seen videos about resetting parameters. What is this and how do I do it? I can get the manual from Erwin if needed.
Thanks all.
