Is there a common slot that rattles? I used to think it was just from the speakers but it sometimes rattles with no music on, bit annoying. Sounds like it’s from around the top of door card or the panel that holds the seatbelt

I have a similar intermittent one thought it was in the b-pillar, near the top seat belt mount, but also seems to be coming from the top corner of the door card closest to the b-pillar, anyone else have something similar, or fixed it ?

I was also going to say it doesn’t do it all the time which is weird? Surely it would do it all the time or not at all lol?

Ironically I got this as well, first time I heard it (convinently also after 3 years old (warranty ended). For me its passenger side area, might be B pillar, or front door. At first I thought it was somethig rattling in the door pocket or dash storage area, but no! Although i wonder if it's temperature related.....I also thought I heard a rear supsension 'clunk' then i realised it was the sound of the armrest being down, and 'impacting.' When the armrest is stored, it's fine.

Yeah I’ve also had something from the passenger side, I also checked the floor etc for bottles or something but can’t see anything. That’s pretty bad if it’s trim rattling on an Audi. Car is only 10 months old. Unless it’s the speakers rattling causing the plastics to loosen etc

I've owned a few Audi's over the years and, sadly, they have all had some sort of rattles here and there. I almost expect it with them now.

In this day and age where car manufacturers are trying to cut costs at every level, it's inevitable. The plastics are getting cheaper and thinner!

I think unless we can afford actual "premium" cars, costing maybe 100k plus, then we'd be naive to think they won't rattle. Even then, I'm sure the expensive cars also rattle lol.

Rattles for me to, trim under instrument cluster and rear passenger door silver trim thanks to my 8 year old for finding that for me in 30 seconds, where i tried and failed to find it over a month

You still have your warranty, so you can go to the dealer and try to fix it. These days its a bit cooler, and I dropped the windows, the put them up again, and it appears that 'noise it makes' when I hit a substantial bump is gone for now (funny how now I try to aim for bumps to see if that rattle is still there). I also did open the door wide, and try to press / lightly hammer with my fist the trims that may be loose as well. Either that or it was the window.

Oh, I will try to press the silver trim thing as well.....

Could be the same rattle I've been battling with for a year. Dealer has tried to get it solved three times but it's still there and sounds like it's not changed at all though they've fitted some felt to the fasteners of the trim list under the dash. I'd be so pleased if someone finally found a way to get it solved. I also have only four months of warranty left so after that the problem is all mine...

It's also only a problem in places where the tarmac is rough, like anywhere in Finland. I did a two-week trip to Germany through Sweden and Poland where the roads are very much smoother and the rattle stayed away the whole trip.

I found my rattle, and fixed it, thankfully it wasn't an internal trim rattle, my front passenger after unlatching the sunshade to block the sun from the side, did not latch it back into the slot after. So the shade was flapping 'under' the slot that sercures. I was even driving couple of mins of my journey yday holding the front passenger headrest (thought it was that!). But now, it's so quiet! So yea, 39 month car (fingers cross) no rattles/vibrations from trim or similar. I do have Sport trim (less stiff/higher) suspension on 17inch rims (45 profile) though. Maybe that helps!

Im from the netherlands. I have a3 sportback 30 etfsi with b&o 2024. I went to the dealer also with rattle sound. I discover the rattle sound by myself by pressing/puahing on the door trims. The door cards are cheap and to soft plastic. After visiting the dealer. They remove the carda of the 2 front Doors and remounted it tighter. But im still not happy. The Doors cant handle the bass of the b&o. Especialle the lower part with the cup houders. It to soft/flexibel plastic and its vibraties to the metal behind it. Open the door and play music with bass. Yiu Will see the hole door vibraties. Try to push/press the door cards without music to find the area which rattles. I made a appointment with audio company to add some isolatie material between the metal and the door trims and also around the woonerf speakers

At least you don't have the plastic bass air exhaust flapping about from the expelled air from the sub (yet)!

I have that too hahaha but Doors are more annoying hahah
My doors vibrate even on low volume with the radio when people are talking (bass from their voices), so even at low volumes it vibrates/buzzes. Guess I’ll just have to Iive with it. Did the 8v really not vibrate with the b&o then?

No never vibraties in 8v. Even with bass and subwoofer on max setting. And the speskers were much better locatiedirecteur. And the subwoofer was so strong and more active. Now the front Doors are more active and that is the problem

I have a similar rattle from driver’s side rear quarter where the seat belt reel is. Tapping it I could hear something rattling inside, after dismantling I found a couple of pieces of plastic loose. I’ve put it all back making sure everything is in and tight. I can’t hear anything when tapping now. I’ll update after a couple of days driving as mine wasn’t there all the time, ****** annoying!

How did you get into it to check ?

I had to remove the boot contents, board, spare wheel, jack and brace and the polystyrene piece that holds them. Hatchback door seal eased off to remove trim by the back edge where the lock point is. Back seat down, removed the load anchor and its trim. There was also a plastic circle thing that looks like an anchor which rotates anti clockwise to undo. A screw needs removing on the trim that locates the parcel tray. There is a triangle shaped trim in the corner behind the seat which you can pull to the centre of the car to release it. You can then ease the panel away from the side.

My passenger door is rattling quite a bit but it stops when I push the top door card in and hold it but rattled again when I release. Is this a common issue or is it the door seals maybe? As when I’m pushing the door it’s pressing harder against the sills? Bad for an Audi to rattle like a ford

Well, winter's over and the damn rattle is back. I'm starting to think it might actually be the passenger door rather than the dash. I watched a video of how to remove the door card and noticed there are actually plenty of stuff on the door surface behind the card, so lots of potential places to cause such a minor but very annoying rattle. Since I'm out of warranty I think I gotta try to fix it by myself. Luckily there are those videos showing what to do. Some trim parts actually seem to be removable without too much expertise.

But it's ricidulous what this is. When I was young I had one rusty, then 16 years old BMW, and after it the Opel Vectra C, there were no rattles in either of those. Of course there were some noises as they were old cars but nothing this irritating.

I've tried to locate the damn rattle and next place in my list to check seem to be the 48V battery cover, especially the frond grid of it. I've tried to figure out how to remove it but it gives no clues. Does anybody know how it comes off?
Edit: Nevermind, got it... Use the force, Luke.

And turns out it wasn't the source. Next up the door card, I think...

mines been to Audi but the rattle stopped from about mid March for some reason, so now I don’t know if it was just due to the colder/drier weather, or whether it is actually fixed. I still don’t know what caused the rattle to stop when I dropped the window slightly that would have anything to do with the weather. Audi insulated my doors to stop the speakers rattling, but my door rattle was a seperate issue I thought.

Might be I'm just rejoicing too early but now it almost sounds like I might have gotten that f'cker tackled. There's a hatch at the back of the glovebox. Despite having a thick insulation foam behind it, it was a little bit loose from its edges against the hard plastic rim. I applied some pieces of felt all over the rim and after that the rattle's not been there anymore. I haven't driven very much after that though so might be it will just come again in some nearby future... but I think it should have already sounded at some point, so there's finally hope.

And - yes, the rattle's back. So I went through the entire cabin to locate possible rattle sources, found some and fixed what I could. No success. But after removing and placing back some interior parts I must say the car feels far from low build quality. Everything comes off very easily and goes back with no forcing or arranging and all the clips and fasteners feel quite good quality. Except the door card speaker cover, I just didn't manage to get it off so the door card is still unchecked. But feels like it's weird the rattle is there, when everything seems so decently designed.

Does the rattle stop or change when you drop the window at all like mine did?

That's something I havent tested. But it's not constant and usually comes in multiple short paces, then it can be away for a week like now and then suddenly come back. Also that's why it's so hard to locate while driving, it always goes away before you catch where it comes from and then you're not ready to listen to it when it comes back again. Despite it being quite loud.

I got a new idea of a tool to test to remove the door card speaker cover and tested it immediately. The tool just broke while the cover part remained in place and intact.

My left door has started rattling again with punchy bass (was previously in at Audi where they insulated the doors and it was a lot better) but suddenly it’s rattling in the far left corner near the door catch area, it stops when I hold the bit of door card so I know where it is this time at least. I’m a bit worried how it’s been fine since and only started rattling again, surely the sound deadening they put in last time wouldn’t come loose? It’s this bit that the rattle is coming from but the other door. Annoying that I’m going to have to need to book it in at Audi again
