I’ve just touched up two tiny stone chips using a cocktail stick and they look fine.

Being metallic, I was going to do the same with a lacquer on top.

However, I just read someone did that and it just created a raised blob on top which was even more noticeable.

Should I still try and apply the use lacquer on such a small chip?

I’m wondering whether I should just leave it with the top paint as it’s so small anyway.

I can’t really get a photo as they’re so small and I get too much reflection off the paint.

I would not bother if they are too small to even get a pic, trust your instinct

Fill the chip, rub it down with 2k grade, if it still has a dip, fill it again, repeat rince etc, once it's flat, blow some lacquer over, then let it dry for a day, rub down with some 2k again, then use some farecla to pull up the shine, use the fine version, about £10 from halfords or prime.

I think my chips are too small for that, plus the car is only 2 months old so will stick with just the top coat this time.

Shame you can’t get a touch up brush which is like a marker pen for those small ones which are almost dots.

I doubt anyone else except for me can even see them.

Wouldn`t worry about lacquer on top of such a small repair...by the time you`ve put some wax/polish/sealant or whatever you normally use over the top the new paint will be sealed anyway.
