New wheels

I’ve looked around and for a refurb it’s like £350. I’ve kind of been off as like you said I hey surely would have been sprayed for a reason. He said he bought the car with the wheels on there. He has an a4 avant too. Just want to drive 4 hours away only to be left disappointed

Also this forum is by far the best around as everyone is so helpful and people actually respond unlike other ones I’ve seen before

if you want to avoid the drive, just arrange your own courier ( so he is not posting ) Use paisley freight as they have a dedicated service for tyres and wheels

All they ask is that the guy sending them puts some cardboard on the front and back faces of the wheels

Mate seriously just buy a set without tires that are in near enough mint condition... worstcase is that you'll have to wait until you have the funds to buy some tires... but there is always the option of getting buget tires for the time being. They can be had cheap enough and still be decent enough for a daily driver... look at www.blackcircles.com for tires including fitment... or buy them cheaper at www.camskill.co.uk but factor in the price of £20 per wheel for fitting and balancing and a new valve.

Thanks mate, yeah I doubt I will buy those ones now. Sorry for all the questions, I’m just really indecisive and don’t want to buy the wrong ones. May end up just getting my Le Mans refurbed lol.

If you want to play safe and save money and avoid any potential fitment issues and extra cost ontop of everything else, why not just get your current lemans refurbed, a very worthwhile option to be honest.
Give yourself time to find the ones you really want, if you rush into something without really knowing what you want etc it normally goes tits up .

I fully agree with the statement just made by @Charlie Farley ... don't rush into buying anything until you are 100% sure, and you've got Lemans that could do with a refurb? spend the money on them a good refurbishment place might even have soe temporary wheels with tires for you to stay mobile while they sort your wheels out. ( I know of 2 in my town that actually make sure you stay mobile while they refurbish your wheels, not all offer this service)

The company that I would go with do normally have spare rims so I could stay driving around. Would be typical that I go for the refurb then find a set of wheels I love ha

One place I went to didnt offer this service but as I didnt want to leave the car sitting on jack stands ( my driveway is sloped ) they offered me some spare rims so the car could at least sit on wheels ... now they were very kind to offer me some correct VAG wheels so I knew they would fit but lets just say the end result was hilarious when you see the car :)

Me thinks the offset is a little wrong :)

well it is what happens with the RS4's wide body at least you had some wheels so it could sit on it's own weight.

H y Charlie, hopefully finally near the end of my wheels search. But I have seen some wheels that are 235/35 19 with an et of 43 but then found some 255/35 19 with and et of 35 and if I’ve worked it outright the 255 will have kore space from suspension so should fit ok?

I’d go with the 235/35 , you don’t say what the rim width is though.

ET35 is good but depends on rim width re tyre width choice, personally I’d steer clear of 255 unless you can be sure the offset and rim width allow enough wheel arch clearance and suspension clearance.

I have now found a set 235/35 19 with offset of 43 so they should be good. Hopefully getting them this weekend and selling my Le Mans next week
