8.5Y RS3

Top choice, but then I'm biased..!
Ours is Progressive red, our previous one was Tango, very similar but the Progressive doesnt show it's metallic off like the Tango did when in the Sun

Yours looks great in that shot as your profile. Tango red?

TX.
It is indeed! I wasn't given permission for Kyalami green when I got it, but I'm happy I went for Tango Red in the end. It sits against the black and carbon elements nicely and is bright enough the stand out without drawing too much attention.

I went to the gym the other day and within the hundred or so cars parked there in the middle there was a 25 plate RS3 saloon in asbo green, sorry Kyalami green, it couldnt have stood out any more if it had a flashing neon light above it................still looked very nice though and a colour I very nearly chose :)

Also the Kyalami Green is very sensitive to dirt. I remember during the test drive event last year our dealer had one in Kyalami in the showroom and the another for driving was the same colour. The one in the showroom looked amazing but the another that had been thrown around in the slush for a day looked remarkably shabby, much more so than the red one we had this year.

Now there's one Sportback in Daytona Grey in the showroom. With the black wheels and tinted rear windows it looks very menacing. My favorite of those I've seen.

Like it too! But I wouldn't quite see even myself using it for grocery shopping... and let my wife drive it at all :tearsofjoy:

I received an email last night to say "Your order is confirmed" along side an order number.

Is there anything you can do with this number like before? I don't remember getting an order number communicated for current car.

It would be great if they reintroduced the tracking site.

So here we are. Collect Sunday.

Looks fantastic. Those carbon accents and the wheels go very well together and make a very solid look with the red colour.

Pretty ****** off at the dealer TBF. I won't name and shame them but they've done their best to ruin the experience for me.

Guess they aren't selling that large volumes of cars that they couldn't offer decent customer service for a guy who orders a full loaded RS car. Just imagine how fabulous would be buying a basic spec Q2 there...

I've got only good service from my local dealer and only read bad about the UK dealers... Is it the same for the BMW and Benz customers there too?

In general, I’ve found that most dealers are worse since Covid. But there are still good dealers. Recently bought a BMW i3S for the wife‘s daily and weekend shopper. The BMW dealer was the best I have ever dealt with. Brilliant service.

Same experience. I've owned a few M cars now and BM were exceptional to deal with.

Same here on my 'cancelled order' car (did you see my post?) If the deal hadnt of been so good I would have walked away

Only just back in an Audi after many years in BMW’s mostly M’s and all new cars and this was probably the best dealer experience on the used i3s.

The engines are built in a way where a bit of swarf can be quite common, so regardless of whether you bed it in more traditionally or hammer it from day one, you should definitely get that first oil change in nice and early!

Can't say I would want to rag the engine immediately whilst it settles in, nor would I trust much from the salesman, but each to their own!

Hill Hold is available unless you turn it off in the MMI. P.98 and 113 of the manual. Works fine for me.

If you mean auto hold, tap the star icon on MMI ("favorites") and swipe to the second tab, should be there. You can change it to be on the first tab and then move the favorites menu to the permanent icons column so you can quickly access it any time you need to, also when using CarPlay or Android auto.

It's also buried somewhere under the car settings but can't remember where it was. I think it wasn't in the driver assistances, which is a bit weird.

Ah ok thanks. In the RSQ3 it was a button in the centre console.

Also the sunroof now has a manual "pull" that you pull across to give some shade from the Sun. Was electric in the RSQ3.

TX.

RSQ3 is a product from the time before cost cuttings hit, so no wonder the RS3 is more spartan in places. But I've also wondered why they didn't keep the auto hold button in 8Y since Golf, Leon and Octavia still have it, even though they don't have either of those button panels Audi still has. Better this way round though, and I mostly keep the auto hold on.

I've just been offered the chance to swap to a FL from my 8Y by the local dealership. Carbon Black like my current one, but in Kemora Grey, with sunroof and tech pack pro... Comes with the scrollers on the sterring wheel, so is one lf the latest builds. The cost works out near-identical to currently, so now I'm torn...!

Silly deals, costwise that sounds like a no-brainer, but what do you think of the colour...?

It's better than I thought to be honest, it's quite a nice shade.

But it's like we've all been saying on here, it's clear they're really struggling to shift stock at the minute. The one they're offering me has about £10k in discounts on it and that's without me even so much as trying to push the price down.

I think I'll stick with the 8Y though, at least for the time being. There are aspects of the FL I like over this one, but a few I don't, and I can't say I feel like I'd be missing out on anything significant by not taking it.

8Y to 8.5Y RS3 change isnt like changing to different make or even a different model, it's more like an 'evolution' or 4 years development.

There are far too many subtle differences and changes to list,

My deal was similar to yours, £10k off a cancelled order, the car had been ceramic coated, I got an extra 2 years warranty and a service plan in the deal.

To convince myself I added the cost of a service (I had a service plan so cancelled that and got nearly £500 back) plus tyres, plus cost of extended warranty over the next 4-5 years (my usual time to change) mine was also due for road tax + MOT and as a plus my insurance reduced by 50%, so I convinced myself that I also saved the best part of £2k over the next year.

My insurance was 'weird', no human to speak just messaging after I got rid of the AI assistant, I had about 6 weeks remaining on my current insurance, she went through the details and said £190, I blew a gasket said there's no way am I paying £190 for the next 6 weeks cover, she replied 'no thats for the year and we owe you £45'.............I was taken aback to say the least.

My renewel came through at £245, it all checks out OK, I paid mid £400 last year on a car worth a lot less.

One thing that did keep coming up when doing the rounds of comparison sites was the cars list value, there are a lot of companies that won't quote for the cars 'list' price of £72250, they seem to draw the line at £70k
