To give some context, I had a minor crash one year ago, and had to put a new headlight on the left, costed me 750€ at the Audi dealership. Only found out about this problem because I changed the bulbs for new ones.
I have the 2015 A3 pre-facelift , and while installing new bulbs (OSRAM XENARC COOL BLUE INTENSE next Generation) i found out that the main beam point where the light is brighter is out of level.
As shown in the pictures, when it is on medium beams the lights are leveled, but the bright spot is not, when I put it on high beams it's easy to see the bright spot is out of level.
Seems to me that the problem is the cut-off shield inside the xenon projector, one shield is cutting more light than the other. At first, I thought the bulbs were the problem, but after putting the old ones back I found out the bulbs are fine.
Is that something that can be corrected on VCDS ore something, or is it a defect from the headlights?

Find a garage with a headlight beam setter. They need manually adjusted.

I wish it was as simple as using a philips screw driver to manually adjust it. I did it myself already... Unfortunately, this is more complex than that. What I really need to know is if there is a way of adjusting the cu-off shields.

fiend a friend with a car which has no issues with its headlights. Fire them at your garage / wall and mark them with tape. Mark the position of the vehicle on the road with tape also. Move the car and then position your car, put lights in to service mode, adjust with the white hex screws, end service mode, job done. If you don't know how to put in to service mode then you need to find someone with the software, like VCDS etc, to do it for you.

Why do I need to put the lights in service mode? Does it adjust the high beam shield that way?
