Engine or electric motor? Odd or Even?

Audi RS5 avant

Odd or even? How Audi are defining their cars and who gets an engine and who gets an electric motor.

Set to arrive in 2025, the Audi RS5 Avant is poised to be a formidable sports estate, marking Audi Sport performance division's initial foray into electrification.

This vehicle, the first plug-in hybrid from Audi Sport, will serve as the successor to the current V6-powered RS4, adopting a new naming convention to align with Audi's strategy of assigning odd numbers to combustion engine vehicles and even numbers to electric vehicles (EVs). Consequently, an electric counterpart, the RS4 E-tron, is anticipated to debut by 2026.
