I had to disconnect the battery the other day and when i reconnected it i had the steering angle sensor error light on the dash which i was expecting.
But a couple of seconds later I got a stability warning on the center display and my abs and esp lights came on, so i cleared all the error codes in vcds
which made no difference.
Tried the various methods to reset the steering angle sensor, which made no difference. I took the steering wheel and clockspring off to get to the G85 sensor
but i don't have a G85 sensor fitted. Thinking it must be the clockspring at fault, I fitted a 2nd hand one today, but still no difference.
Vcsd measuring blocks is still saying 0.0 deg when moving the wheel.
Here is a pic of the circuit board from the module under the steering column, as you can see the pins that would go into the G85 sensor were never there from the factory
Any help would be greatly appreciated
