Key won't start car. Key won't fully turn in iginition.

hey buddy , where did you get the new barrel from ? this has just happened to my car just now . any help is appreciated .
only difference with mine is i forced my key round and it does turn and start ,but sometimes trying to turn it off is hard or after its been sitting its hard to start . i will be happy to try and do the work myself as my car is home and i have tools handy . thanks

I had the same issue with my A3 and thought the key was toast, but turned out it just needed reprogramming after a battery change. I used thelockdoc.ca and they came out quick and sorted it in minutes. Worth a look if you're stuck and don't want to deal with dealer prices.
