I am a bit puzzled
I have a 2017 S3 where the heater inside the car is very slow to warm up in the winter . This makes demisting or defrosting a slow operation in the cold mornings and using the heated seats a must!
at first i thought maybe the thermostat was stuck open (or more correctly not being instructed to close by the ECU) so I have connected up a reader watched the water temperature on the live data stream. On a cold day it rises quickly from 4 deg C to 100 where it settles in a 10 min journey .
I also checked the oil temp using the lap timer and that rises to about 67 deg over the same period.
In the same journey the air coming from the climate control (set to 22 deg) is cold and only at the end of the journey, does it feel luke warm ??
I initially suspected the thermostat as the housing was replaced under warranty in the summer and i cant remember the car warming up being a problem in previous winters. now thinking maybe an airlock in the heater matrix??
Any ideas folks?
