Hello,

New to this forum but I need help. Currently in the process of doing my valve cover gasket and my cam cover gasket do to a failing PCV cause abnormal crankcase pressure and blowing out my seals. Basically got almost everything pulled out, just a couple bolt left to remove + fully removing the cam cover to clear the timing chain guide on the valve cover.

Theres alot of debate on the proper procedure for removing the valve cover. Do I need to remove tension on the Timing Chain in order to remove the valve cover? I want to avoid any cam/timing issues. I do have the engine TDC incase something goes wrong and I have also marked the Cam and Chain in relation to where they sit currently. But Id like to know what I should be worrying about if anything.

My engine is EA888 MQB Gen 3 with VVT on intake and exhaust. Audi A3 8V.5 2017 2.0T

Ive attached a picture of where im currently sitting, it is not my picture but it’s basically where I am at this point.

Has anyone in this forum even done there's ? Id like to have your opinion please.

Thank you

Did you manage to get it sorted? I have the same issue at the moment and garages give me ridiculous quotes to do the job...
