Hello everyone, my name is Francisco, I recently have purchased a Audi A3 8P 2009 Facelift. It is ny first Audi car and been having a couple of issues with it.
The main issue I have and the one that has made me post this thread is a central locking / can bus issue.
Since I have bought the car, the central locking does not work. To open the car need to use the key lock which triggers the alarm (only the hazard lights come on, not the alarm siren). Then I switch the ignition and the alarm turns off. To close the car, I turn the key lock and all doors shut.
Sometimes, when I close the car activating all door locks and then tey to open again, all doors open as normal and the alarm does not go off.
When I scanned the OBD port thete is an error in the can bus that reads "00470 - Comfort CAN-bus in 1-wire mode". From what I have read, I am leaning towards a damaged connection somwhere in the CAN-bus system.
I have looked in all doors, behind the hvac system and radio, on the OBD port and have found nothing damaged or that looks that it could cause a bad connection.
Gave up for a while and then yesterday I was changing my front grill and when I took the bumper off found two pieces which look like alarm sirens I assumed but not sure to be disconnected. Now my initial thought was the person that first had the central locking stopped working maybe cut the connection so that the alarm siren would not go off every time they opened the car. But now on second thought, could this be causing my CAN-bus in 1-wire mode issue?
Any input would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your guys time.
