Second Service - £481 (P*sstake?)

Morning All,

Just wanted to ask a quick question - Just had my quote from Audi regarding my second (major) service. Oil, pollen, brake fluid and inspection.

Quoted £481 (inc VAT), is this a comparable quote to what everyone has had for their second service?

Is it worth any of my money getting it done at Audi?
 
Yes, it's around that...although maybe if you look at a different (further dealer by distance) you might be able to get a more competitive price (not more than £20-£30 difference though.
I 'think' mine was £430 for the one in West London dealer, but the one nearest me was £30 more. However in the end as I extended my lease from 24 months to 48 (total), would end up needing 2 services. So went for the service plan for £635. I 'think' the minor service after that would be £250 ish or more, so it was cheaper with the service plan.
Please note my car was on 24 month long life oil, so the major was my first service.

Depends on whether needs done at Audi, if your car is on PCP / owned outright, I think you can, but generally leased cars, must be done at Audi dealer (as per the contract).

Or try what I did on a previous car. I had quotes from Dealer A and Dealer B. Both were equidistant from me, but different directions. Dealer A quoted £279, Dealer B quoted £269. I asked dealer A if they would match dealer B's quote, but when typing my hand slipped and wrote £259 instead, and didn't realise, until Dealer A responded that yes, we will match dealer's B £259.

I thought it was £220 for oil and £380 for second service on an s3? I did wonder why the service plan is £600 odd if it is the prices Ive just mentioned
 
I had the same issue last year.. When I was told what the price was I couldn't beleive what I was hearing. At the time Audi were doing discounts on Service Plans, so I took one of these at £403 for 2 services. I've since now used the all the Service Plan credits and they've offered me a new service plan for £476.

As mine is now 2 years old I think I'm just going Pay As You Go servicing as I'm unsure if I want to keep the car.
 
I’ve just got a service plan on my s3 for £476, guess I got a bargain then lol? It’s 25% off at the moment

Just did the exact same, not sure how they can say a single service is £481 and then offer 2 for £476 but oh well, sorted.

Was that putting your reg no in?

My reg isn't recognised right now (picked up the car this afternoon).
If I used the drop downs to choose make (A3 Sportback special editions) and model (S3 TFSI Quattro Black Edition 5dr S tronic [Tech]) it gives me price of £386.85. Dealer told me earlier it was £476 - didn't believe the the £386 price I was getting until he did it himself.

Wonder if it will show £476 when it finally recognises my reg no.
 
I don't have an S3 8Y (I own an A3 8Y 35 TFSI) but I have noticed that pricing of servicing, at least outside of a Service plan, is on an upwards trend at my Local Audi Dealership. Every year it hasn't made any financial sense for me to pay for any service, outside of a Service plan. Each time I've enquired about servicing costs, it has always been consistently and significantly more expensive to pay separately for any minor or major service required, when compared to a Service plan.

Case in point - I called my Local Audi Dealership today to book in a minor (oil and filter) service, expecting to pay for the minor service separately, as the previous (major) service was covered by my now expired Service plan.

The Dealership ask £301 for the minor oil and filter service, but a Service plan that covers both the minor oil and filter service that is now due and the next major service (whenever that is due) works out at £476 spread across 24 months, rather than paying £791 (outside of a Service plan) for both services in the next 24 months.

I can't help think that Audi and Audi Dealerships are manoeuvring customers into these Service plans by inflating the cost charged for servicing outside of Service plans and that once enough customers are covered by Service plans, they will start to jack the price up of the Service plans themselves, without dropping costs outside of Service plans. Win win for Audi, but the customer will lose either way.

To follow up on my own post.

My reg is now recognised. No surprise that it shows a price of £476.
