S3 8P Flickering Headlights/Cuts out/No errors

Hi my drivers side headlight has had a fault since I bought the car in which, it flickers during the daytime very hard to notice. However when it gets dark my right headlight will randomly shut off. sometimes this also causes my passenger side headlight to also shut off?(rare) When this happens I get no warning on the dash to say my headlights are out? am i safe to assume its the ballasts?

I didn't think it could be the bulbs as I would receive an error no?

Where is the ballast located on the 8P?

OE part number for a ballast?

Hello.
When i had similar situation, i think i had error warning on the dis.
In my case was ballast. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it was flickering, sometimes it was dead.
Not sure of the part number.
It's located on the headlight, on the under side. No way of removing it without removing the headlight.
You'll need to take off the bumper or at least loosen half of it to reach all headlight bolts.
