Hi,
Only fault code I'm getting a 00560 - exhaust gas recirculation system 08- 10 0 control limit surpassed - intermittent - fault. Trying to this resolved as it's throwing an check engine light.
When holding accelerator at 1400 - 1500 rpm chocking engine and cutting out a bit, along with pretty bad smoke (probably greyish/ maybe bluey gray). It also does this while driving when holding @ 1400 -1500 rpm mark. As soon as I accelerate no problem moves smoothly through it. Stops smoking as soon as it passes through the 1500 mark. Does not smoke before or after only if held at the 1500 rpm.
From what I read and understand it is a general emissions fault with the EGR system. When I started searching I found that the old EGR solenoid (nearside on in UK cars) was stuck on open so therefore had a constant air leak into the engine. Cause of this the ECU tried to fix this by injecting more diesel into the motor which does not help and I think makes the motor run rich so its throwing unburnt fuel out into the exhaust. After changing the EGR solenoid it ran good for a bit (about half a day) and then started doing it again. So I replaced the EGR valve. Did not resolve the problem.
I have checked for vacuum at the top of the EGR valve, good, at the other side of the pipe on the nearside egr solenoid, good, the offside egr solenoid good and also at the top of the turbo inlet (not sure what its called but it's the little metal cap thing, kinda looks like the same as the top of the EGR valve just bigger) All have suction.
I then thought maybe the MAF is gone and not giving proper readings, so changed it and no change so old MAF is working as it should. N75 is showing ok around 80%.
So any idea of where else to look? to try and find the problem. Or have I understood something wrong? After changing everything what am I missing? have I left something out?
