I have been given what is some sort of a K04 turbo for my s3 1.8t but I'm unsure on what brand turbo it is. I know it is not the standard borgwarner turbo. It has turbocharger model: F23 stamped onto it but I can't find any Information on this. Would this just be a cheap Chinese copy? I was planning on getting it refurbished with a billet wheel but if its not an genuine branded turbo I won't bother. If anyone could clear this up for me it would be much appreciated.

More likely to be the cheap (200 quid) F23 Chinese copy... with the improved compressor wheel...
2nd hand real frankenturbos are still ££££s as they have larger compressor housing, ported hotsides and clipped turbines... these cheap turbos are more like copies of the turbo-rebuilds hybrid CHRAs
