I have a 03 plate b6 avant, 1.8t sport, (163bhp, bfb engine), which is losing quite a lot of oil (like 1/2 a litre in 350miles). I am pretty convinced it is burning it off and am pretty convinced it’s through the turbo (165k miles with no known maintenance on seals etc).
Anyway, I want to replace the turbo and figured if I can do a slight upgrade to say KO3s or KO4 then I might as well, but can anyone recommend good straight swap options that aren’t insanely expensive. Ideally I would go stock but they are more difficult to find 20 years later and ebay ones look too cheap to waste my time with.
