Hi Guys,

I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction, on 3 different occasions I’ve turned my key to turn the car over but before it can even reach the first ‘point’ of the key turn where it just turns on everything electrical like the radio the dash goes dead for a few seconds before coming back on (opening and closing the door may or may not help get the dash turned back on as I opened and closed the door each time)

Then once I’ve waited for the dash to reset and turn the car over it starts up but as I’m driving the car with the same amount of pressure on the accelerator pedal the rpm repeatedly goes up and down slightly every 30 seconds or so for a second each way.

I’ve had the battery checked with the guy using a sensor that he connected to the battery who told me that the battery and alternator is fine, can anyone help?

Many thanks :)

Well could be 2 things, ignition switch is common fault & if manual the bouncing rpm could be slipping clutch, hypothetical as not with the car.

Ah I should have mentioned that it’s an automatic but I’ll look into ignition switch, thank you, any idea why an automatic would have a bouncing rpm?
