Hi all,

I have a Audi A3 8P 2010 plate with the full Bose audio system.

I was thinking about getting a head unit with Apple car play but heard there can be issues with the Bose audio system. Can anyone point me in the right direction about any additional fittings/connectors I would need to get this to work correctly?

Was thinking about getting the Sony XAV-AX1000, unless anyone has any better suggestions?

If installed properly & using the correct looms, it will be fine.

You'll have to do your r&d, plenty of info on here & other places.

Do you have steering wheel controls you want to use, that will partly determine what loom you need I think.
The unit you've chosen doesn't have DAB, I had a Pioneer AVH-Z9200DAB fitted but that is a fair bit more expensive and you'll need a DAB aerial.
What head unit do you currently have, that might dictate what plugs you'll find round the back.
Think about getting a reversing camera too, I had it done at the same time and it's great.

I don't have any steering wheel controls, so maybe this simplifies things?

Also thanks for the heads up on the DAB unit. I'll look into other options that have that.

My current head unit is just the one that came with the car, it has Audi concert written on the front. Not sure if there's different models? It looks like this

I was thinking about getting a reverse camera, but will likely do that a bit later on in the year. Seems really useful though!

After some more research, it looks like I'll need a Quadlock Ground Loop Isolator and a Quadlock to ISO adapter, although the Quadlock to ISO might come with the head unit depending on which one you get.

Currently-working links for anyone in the future:

You’ll also need a 4-channel high to low converter.

Okay so I’ve literally just fitted a kenwood unit yesterday DMX8019DABS to my 05. I have a full Bose sound system however when I removed the radio I only had two plugs not a full quadlock. Not sure what original system was in mine as previous owner changed it but the one I took out was a Symphony unit.

The above pic shows my connectors that was at the back on the unit and I spoke to someone from Dynamic sounds who were great and told me the required harness etc.
fascia is Connects2 CT24AU15
Harness is Connects2 CTSAD008.2
Aerial adapter is Autoleads PC5-90

I don’t have a MFSW however I still needed the above adapter to connect the Bose system up. It was a proper pain as there is no proper instructions for the Connect 2 lead other than basics. So for anyone else with same setup as me, on that specific harness connect the two blue wires Remote output & Amp on. Then there is another set of red and yellow connectors that need to be connected as they are your power. Everything else should just connect up as per instructions and work. You don’t actually need to connect the universal patch lead unless you have a MSFW so it can be left unplugged.

Definitely worth removing your radio and checking what connectors you have and then send an email over to Dynamic sounds who’ll give you the correct adapters. Any questions for anyone in similar setup give me a shout

I'm not sure you do if your aftermarket stereo has preamp outs.

It was needed for my unit, at least. I got a horrible ignition/engine noise through the speakers. I added a noise filter, which did not work. Contacted the mfr, who suggested the converter. It worked just fine then.
