I have a a4 b6 1.8t bex quattro had this car for about a year now, recently its started making a thump when I'm accelerating, in 1st its a hard sharp thump that you can feel and hear it happens consistently always at the same rpm and multiple times through out the rev range until you get into the higher rpms, its the same in second but not as pronounced, by the time your in 3rd its almost gone.
it mostly happens when the cars warmed up, it doesnt matter if you accel hard or slow its always there,
i thought it maybe was the diff so i changed the oil no swarf or metal bits so thats all okay, i have the correct tyres for my car 235/40 all round, i noticed a vibration at speed so ive ordered a new prop bearing theres also a very slight side to side play in the prop
however i dont thing its these causing the issue since its such a violent thump, when i got the car it had 225/40 on the F and 235/40 on the rear will this have any affect on the center diff
any ideas guys im really stuck with this one any help will be apperciated
