hi i hope your all well.ive just got a quote from a local garage for a new 2010 audi a3 1.6 tdi sportback stop start BOSCH S5A08 battery with 5yrs guarantee for £236 fitted, .ive seen same battery for £136 online,,im no mug ill fit it myself.my rant/grumble is some rip off car garages are taking the micheal charging £100 quid to fit a battery,what battery do you reccomend i had a original AGM stop start battery in my car for many miles it was in my car when i bought it now its dead and i need a new battery i prefer bosch battery brand ,which battery do you all like in your A3,stop start battery technology is exspensive,i love A3s .take care,stay safe,happy easter and all the best 2023 .. ...

They are charging the hourly rate, most garages do it and it can be £100 very easily even if it takes them 5 minutes, with a non-discounted battery too.
parts + labour + vat = the amount they are quoting you.
The only cheaper way is by doing it yourself, but a lot of owners can't or just won't so pay the premium for that service.

cheers m8,yep it is expensive getting it done by a car garage,they charge silly money ill get a A3 stop start bosch battery online cheaper and ill fit the battery myself pal.i think bosch brand are the best battterys you can buy.....
 
There is a company I use that are very good, they have more batteries and types of batteries than most sources, and they are good prices too.
I'm pretty sure they have outlets all over the place.
Now known as ECOBAT , but used to be manbat .
I got a good deal on a few batteries recently , did some haggling and best price around.

i found a 5 year guarantee bosch quality stop start battery on line but i cant fit it because ill need someone to code it to my audi a3 se 1.6 tdi asportback.who do you reccomend a mobile technician or car garage some charge £100 to £150 to fit stop start batterys ,what a rip off,im stuck my car wont start the AGM battery is flat a rant,,,aarrrrrrrrrrrrrr..

cheapest i found is at euro parts it was lion AGM battery 161 then 100 to 150 to code it to my audi a3 ,what a rip off...
 
good news is ive found a powerline 096 EFB stop start battery on amazon its only 89.99 delivered its the cheapest i could find on line ,i just need someone to fit it and code it to my A3,i hope this helps anyone else on here looking for a cheaper option stop start AGM A3 battery,still wont pay upto 150 to fit and code it to my A3 moneys tight like everyone else i cant afford them costs to fit the battery .must be someone does it cheaper,,arrrrrr, ill keep searching.....
 
found somewhere cheaper for AGM A3 stop start batterys its called TANYA on line 74.15p delivered 4yrs guarantee..
