Hi there

recently purchased a 2004 Audi A4 b6 Avant 1.9 Tdi sport

I want to change the wheels from the sport ones in the picture to a Le Mans type of wheel or something else.

can you post pictures of your Avants with different wheels to give me an idea please?

I can get a genuine set of Audi A3 8P Black edition 2009 Le Mans rs4 wheel style at a good price, wondering how they would look and would it make it sit funny?

B6 and B7 variants accept a good range of alloys, they are prettywell the same base car but color can make the biggest impact over pattern.
chunky tires tend to look like tractor tyres on B6 and B7 platforms so you want to be around the 235/40 on an 18"
If you get the chance to go 19" over 18" then take that option as they look really good, if not or you just want to stay with the OEM sizing look at alloys with the spec.
5x112 / ET43 to 33 , 8j to 8.5j and you will be good to go with 235/40

If you want something subtle look at the Ronals as found on the B7 DTM and special editions, they are a nice rim and fit straight on the B6 platform.

try and steer away from cheap reps if possible as they just don't stand up well to our rubbish roads, unless they are high end but then you will pay a premium.

I was behind a really nice B6 1.8T avant on Friday with B7 ronals on and it looked great.
Take a look at the pic section in the B7 forum , may give you some ideas.

Thank you for the detailed and informative response . Really appreciate it. Do you think the a3 black edition ronal wheels will be ok then? They run on 225/40/18s, but i guess I could go 235 on them if that looks better. Ideally don’t want to be chucking too much at them so I’m ok with the idea of sticking with 225/40/18 if I can get away with it .

I may have a set of spacers knocking around?
And yes, totally agree with only getting genuine wheels. I wouldn’t do reps on any car I have tbh . Thanks

You need to be aware of the CB of any new alloys and the offset and rim width , tyre size is is less of an issue but they need to fit ok on the scale of things.
What size and spec rims are fitted at the moment?

B7 s-line factory are 18" et43 8j with 235/40 18"
but non-s-line can be 17" but will still be et43 etc.

going up in offsets is not an issue but rubbing can be so you need to be careful, et33 is very popular on 18" and 19" 8.j or 8.5j rims as it fill out the wheel arches nicely, but chunky tires and standard ride height suspension can make things look like a Tonka toy.

I run 19" 8.5j with ET38 and its looks great.

they look like 17" with chunky tires on.
18" would be so much better and with 235/40
