I was thinking of swapping out my standard Sub Woofer (In the boot side-wall of my Avant) for the BOSE equivalent. You can get the BOSE sub complete with sound enclosure on ebay for not a lot of money and would be an easy fit.

Firstly is it worthwhile, will there be much difference? I'm not looking for earth shattering bass but a little more than I have would be nice

Secondly, re hooking it up. Can I just connect to the BOSE from the non BOSE amp currently powering the standard sub? This would mean the standard rear speakers would continue to works as now as they are powered from the same amp. The standard sub is 4 Ohm, I don't know what the BOSE one is.

For reference, everything is standard other than I've just fitted a Pioneer head unit to replace the old Concert 2. The main objective was to increase the sources that can be used, Bluetooth streaming, DAB (Although I've not fitted a DAB aerial yet) etc rather than start going down the rabbit hole of building a new 'system' . However, there has certainly an improvement in sound too.

PS: Sorry for the dual post (I added this question to my previous thread about the CD changer) but I guess the new title may get different views / responders. Thanks in advance
