Interior Dashboard Buttons LED Colour Change

Hi all,

I Was scrolling through AutoTrader & came across this modded out RS3 with white LED buttons.

I really want to do this to my A3 8P1 after I've recently upgraded the dual climate zone control to the unit from an Audi Q3 that has a white display. I'm handy with a soldering iron & have the confidence to try this mod out for myself. But I have no clue what type of SMD LEDs would be compatible to swap the old LEDs out with.

Has anyone attempted this mod themselves before or does anyone know what LEDs I should purchase?

I think its a mix of PLCC2 and 0805.

look through the thread what did you do to your 8p. 3 people on this forum have done the mod you are speaking. All are referenced in the thread. I just finished the mod. its alot of work but not rocket science. at least 100 leds need to be changed. that does not include the doors. buy an air gun and low temp solder paste. this is a surgical endeavor so if you dont have steady hands or you are impatient dont attempt it. every piece has engineering behind it...meaning it is easily taken apart. If you struggle then you are doing it wrong. i posted a fair amount of pics
