Changing number plates help

I recently got a new set of number plates, and instead of using the plate holder, I removed it and stuck them on instead.
I later realised that I did not fill the screw holes left behind from the plate holders. Will these rust? Is it worthwhile taking them off to fill them in or too much hassle?

I put a bit of sealer inside mine, something like that would always be on my mind so it had to be done, ocd maybe
