Hello Guys!

Two weaks ago i bought and Audi A4 B7 2.0tfsi Quattro Tiptronic. After just 40km the problems started to appear... Firstly, when the engine is cold, revs are fluctuating when gently accelerating or driving with stable speed (around 100-150RPM/s up, and down). When coolant and oil temp are optimal the problem disappears. Gears are changing without problems whole time.

Second problem is really high fuel constumpion. I drive in a small city, engine is often cold, but 20litres/100km (less than 12mpg) is for sure too high! I drive really slow, i accelerate gently, so im shocked with that consumption... VAG didn't show any errors. Lambda sensor, air flow meter etc. gives correct values... Previous owner told me, that car is remapped for "more economic drive"... What could make that problems? Hope you can help with these.

Thank You

Regarding the fluctuating revs it could be a problem with the torque converter. The gearbox is sealed for life but an oil and filter change is possible and could solve the issue. The oil is expensive but much cheaper than a new torque converter so might be worth considering first.

Thank you. Oil was changed 15k km ago, in a dinamic way, so i think changing it right now wont help, but i will consider it.
