Hello and greetings,

I am new to the community.

I am having a problem with my Audi B7 as it is behaving very strange.

My B7 blinks everytime when I unlock.
However, it does blink only sometime when I lock.

Here is what I know:
- I am certain that there is nothing open, say the trunk and bonnet (engine hood) is closed properly for sure.
- I can confirm that the car locks perfectly. It locks every door, trunk, fuel tank. Just doesn't blink to indicate.
- Door sensors are working properly. When car is on and I open any door, trunk or engine bonnet, car can detect it and it indicates it on dashboard.
Here is the strange part:
- Car blinks when locked, if the car is standing in direct sunlight for some time.
- It blinks when I drive it with higher ac temperature, say 25°C or above.

Does any one of you know, where should I start my diagnostics?

Please help me.

Thank you.

Best Regards
Mihir

As with anything on B7's when it comes to odd behavior, get it scanned for faults, just because you have no dash fault light it doesn't mean there are no minor faults.
VCDS is the recognized tool for most owners that are of a DIY nature.
It sounds like a random issue that may be related to a specific controller or function.

Hi Rob,

Thank you very much for your reply.

I had a friend help me to scan the car.
Here are the results. Do you see a specific one that is causing the the problem?

Thank you.

Well you have two possible sources, 09 and 46, not specific to your problem but may be connected as they are in central electrics and central module comfort.
You would be wise to rectify all those faults really if possible.
Clears the faults showing at the moment, run the car then rescan and see what pings up.

Hey Rob,

09 was just a brake light bulb. I replaced the bulb and it is fixed.
However, 49 remains even with rescan. But I am unable to find the source for it. Even the problem code #ff,00,00, 00 seems quite random and I am not able to find anything on this.

Where can I find circuit diagram / logic for central lock system?
Just to find out what are the components that are in circuit and can be problem. (Ofcourse, only if it is possible and legal )

I had something similar intermittently on my old b7 after removing a badly fitted tint to rear quarter windows ,apparently the element forms part of the alarm system,I unplugged the element and it stopped the issue

Thank you Jamsmoo for your reply.

I am confused, what exactly did you remove / bridged?
How did you find out that it was the source of problem? How can I check it on my car?
