Just whichever looked good on Amazon tbh - search coolant clip tool. They look very similar to the pic posted. Also got a pair of US PRO with a flexi wire to do down in the engine bay (for one of my other cars) but not sure that's needed on the S1.
 
I just ordered a set of the US PRO ones, I figured they can do easy access clips and harder to reach ones as well

The valve is on the right side of the engine but it's pretty well hidden. I removed the air box to gain access and uncoupled what I think was an intercooler hose, after that it was pretty easy but I'm definitely gonna look at a decent tool for removing the sprung hose clips in case of any future need for one, You cant see it in the pic but it is underneath the hose where you see a jubilee type clip

Yeah the part number is 4H0121671D, I bought a none OEM one from eBay for approx. £20 to verify it was the valve that was at fault, it works perfectly and my thinking was it’s only £20 if it hadn’t fixed the problem and now I know that was the cause I can fit an OEM valve should it go again.
