If the infrastructure was something like this (about 14min 56secs in ) then it would be more appealing, quite like the car too :whistle2:

You soon adjust to the regenerating braking, just weird at first, it just regens harder the further you come off the accelerator
You also cant keep using fast chargers either, the batteries dont like it
Battery swap answers/fixes a lot of issues

And a huge YES to the 5 centres and order your car at home, that'll sort all those f greedy tozzers out in their chrome and glass showrooms

Just imagine how much easier buying your RS3 would have been dealing directly with Germany without the corrupt dealers

I still think the manufacturers are jumping too soon instead of running combustion cars all the way to the deadline of 2030 - 2035 as hybrid.

uk charging infrastructure is a joke and years away from anything you could call established and without detailed planning of a route, not to mention finding chargers that work or already in use and who wants to hang round a service station for any longer than 10 mins ????

Synthetic fuels are on the horizon too which could be a game changer.

Either way, get ya petrol engine car now while you can mate … just in case this EV madness is steam rollered through.
Batteries are shxt.
Electric is, will be, the way forward, but not with batteries.
All those environmental lovies thinking they're saving the world by buying "fully electric cars" are deluded, they're just lining Elon"s pockets.
Batteries are as bad, to a certain degree, to mining for fossil fuels.

I read somewhere that the carbon footprint to manufacture an EV doesnt start to pay off until the EV has covered over 60,000 miles

Plus Elon never pushes the "green" aspect of EVs. Just that they are faster. Which they are.
Only faster as they have more power and torque than the ICE they are up against, why does everyone seem so surprised? 1000hp Plaid beats 600hp Lambo, no **** Sherlock! Put 2 cars up against each other with same power and it will be a draw EV, ICE or whatever.

Power will always win just like the high power R8 below beating a Plaid.

I'm not sure anyone is surprised one car with more power beats another.

£ for £ EV will always win on power.

People seem genuinely surprised though that a 1000hp Plaid beats another 600hp car. Most of the time it is 4WD vs RWD too giving the EV yet more advantage. Like for like power, 4WD etc it will be a draw.

@8YARWY I just get hacked off with EV this and EV that, ooh look how easily it beats that Lambo with almost half the BHP ...

I think it's just that EV's hide their 'sleeper status' very well, they are able to really dawdle about very well, be driven by anyone's Granny then foot to the floor and 'Bam' I can't imagine that twin turbo R8 being too user friendly, sounded well though :) I used to love the V10 howl out of mine :)

Unless you have a driveway, and or live near a Tesla charger, and or don't mind a real world 200 mile range then fair enough.
But batteries are still not the way to go.

Absolutely agree with you, here where I live there is no chance for longer trips with an EV, it's not practical at all for me. Synthetic fuels all the way for me, fingers crossed. EV, yes, as a second car, a toy for short distances, ideally something like electric TT.

In the meantime I am still enjoying my DIESEL Q3, 600 miles range (for the second time, mainly motorway driving), all bells and whistles I need, motorway trips to my customers are now pleasures... Just stop oil can kiss my fuel cap.
