Can someone link me with an adapter loom to retrofit the facelift rear tail lights on the A3 08 5dr pre-facelift?
I tried a couple of cables and they fit, but don't work correctly. I even looked at the Kufatec ones, and been told by the seller that they're not compatible or something along the lines.

These should work, no? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402868430344

Also, I had coded everything via VCDS using this guide, but not sure if done correctly. Could some link with working codes?

Much appreciated

That link and the coding is correct

I'm not sure what the seller is talking about then. Might just go ahead and order, worse case I can just return it, cheers.

Just wondering ... how did everything work for you?
I did tail lights retrofit (on my 2006 A3 8P) many years ago and got the lights and Kufatec harnesses from BKS Tuning in Germany (I believe they're not in business anymore).
I remember I had to bring 12V to the inner LED rings and connect to the ground, I think ... And then I had someone to do the coding for me.

Cheers,

Working perfectly using the original Kufatec cable linked, which was shipped from Germany as well. Just had to feed the inner lights to the number plate lights, then coded using VCDS, and jobs a good'un.

Thanks for asking.

The first thing I did to mine, I changed the coding to be a bit brighter

Just installed my LED tails this weekend (after they sat in a box for a year!)- used the Kufatec looms…installed LED license plate lights as well. As for the taillight coding- what does that do, exactly? Mine seem to be working just fine without coding, and no errors on the dash. I have a Pro OBDeleven I can hopefully code with if I need to…just curious what the coding does?

You're the second person in all my 10 years nearly of owning my a3 to say they work perfectly without coding.

Well, maybe they aren’t working like they should. Appearance looks good, but concerned maybe they’re getting too much voltage or something? Genuinely curious what it does for others- did your LED rings not light up at all or something?

I just did the coding when they were fitted, I never tried without the coding @NHN might know

If I remember correctly ... after installing the retrofit LED tail lights ...

Before the coding the brake bulbs would act as regular tail lights and possibly something else was "messed up". I am thinking that maybe switching coding to "Euro" would fix the problem and have the LED tubing in both outer (corner) and inner (hatch) on as tail lights. The other 3 bulbs would be used as brake lights or the one in the inner light could be used as a rear fog light.

Sorry for the vague description, it's been a long time ...
