..so I lifted the floor in the boot of my 2017 S1 Sportback expecting to find a spare, but there was only the battery and a bit of empty space!
I bought these bits on Ebay from a 5-door A1, but they're obviously not the right ones.
Can someone please post pics of what should be in there - thanks.

Well.. we all have bad days.
I did see someone on Fleabay selling exactly this one supposedly from an S1, but 2011 to 2015. Did something change in 2015?

S1 was 2014 - 2018 and give or take a few little revisions here and there are all identical.

This is what you should have behind the battery the rectangular foam pack with various bits in and a compressor. The other item in front of the battery is the sound system subwoofer

Thanks for the pic' Phazer.
I don't have a sub, or cables to connect one, so I guess it's an option..
If it's not fitted, I wonder if they put anything ints place?

No, if you don't have the sub, you get the pack at the rear and the battery and a bare boot floor :)

It is possible to retrofit the Audi Sound System inc sub, I've done it in mine and upgraded the sub speaker - very happy with the results but you do need to be technically minded. You also need VCP to add the parameterisation to the headunit (can't be done with VCDS, ODB11 etc).

Shame.. I wonder what the previous owner did with the foam. Can't see a good reason to remove it..

I can cope with the technical - over 50 years in electronics - but I only have VCDS, not VCP.
For now I think with a bit of surgery I can make the foam items I bought fit tidy.
I'll have a go at the weekend, and if it doesn't look too much of a bodge I'll post the results.
Cheers,

Without knowing the history who knows however, is there a chance the previous owner had fitted air ride? The installs I've seen takes up the space in the boot so may have been removed for this OR the last owner decided to keep everything?

If you decide to give the sound upgrade a go, let me know I can give you a rundown of what's needed

Well it is a bodge, but better than leaving the jack etc. in a cardboard box in the boot (like the previous owner).
Thanks for the offer Phazer, but for now I'll take a bit of time to bond with the car, then in a few months think about any upgrades

Cheers,
