I FEEL for the young uns! HONEST, I do.

Remembering my own 17.5% mortgage of course!

A war baby, me, but happy to be 77-years of age now and afford (and more) our TT, RS3 and SQ5

NOT the latest of either, mind - 2010, 2011, and 2016 - in that order. But for sure I can still give due diligence to either and ALL as and when! :racer:

Jeeze them that HAVE to HAVE the f*+%*"g LATEST AUDI and/or whatever!!!!

And then moan, moan, moan, moan, moan, moan here on ASN

Worked bl**dy HARD for it for many a year both here in the UK and CHINA, etc, but here now with a garage FULL of Audi!

Feeling better now.... :yahoo:

I would say there’s an element of entitlement amongst a lot of younger generation and things must be given to them and not earned. Some must have the latest and greatest iPhone , car laptop etc then moan how am I gonna get on property ladder now with interest rates going towards 10%+.
Wasn’t till I was in my mid 30s I got my first Audi. Thought house and good job was more important than a flash car. Had 4 Audis and mercs now and keeping this last one for as long as I can as my last hurrah before being forced into electrification.
was Speaking with a younger guy I work with and he was moaning about he’s never gonna get a house. I said get rid of your car, save yourself £400 a month on pcp payments alone. Move home(temporarily) save yourself £600+ in rent and save all that money for deposit. Response was kinda expected.
“I can’t drive round to my girl and see my mates in an old banger and don’t want to live with my folks anymore”
(Last one I kind of understand)

My first car was nice, a Mk 1 Golf GTi about 10 years old at the time cost £1500. I do find it odd to see 19 year olds in a brand new RS3 to be fair!

Different generations have different expectations, for those of us in the our late 40's, 50's and beyond we may have grown up in a different economic climate and with different values.
I have never owned a new car, ever, only a few new bikes , that's just me and how I grew up making do with someone else pride and joy , and to be honest it's fine.
They have always been mine, not financed etc.
younger people today just have a different set of expectations which is probably not what us older folks find acceptable, but hey , that is life and it won't change.
Easy come easy go mentally , no real value on things, just want it , and buy it or get it bought for them.

social media setting these unrealistic expectations!!
Getting rich from doing nothing!!
I was brought up to understand that to have nice things you have to graft hard for it. I remember when I was young my goal was do something that was good trade or profession so I didn’t have to be poor, have hot wife, family, nice car and nice house. Almost ticked every box now
Remember my mates teenage kid a few years back said to him I’m going to be a professional streamer and make a fortune streaming himself playing video games. He was going to drop out of school and not pursue college/uni or any education. Odd thing is he wasn’t that good at the games but it was an easier out than finishing school.
Let’s say he got a good talking to and finished school and uni

You are quite right - and I was happy to hand it back as it didn't do corners well! It needed more bags of sand in the front than the front could accommodate. Straight line was FUN in 1999, mind! But dare not stroke/plant that right-pedal to far if them Pirelli's were wet!

Now an 8P RS3 or 8R SQ5, just cannot fault 'em all year round when using appropriate rubber! :thumbs up:

I can easily relate ^^^ ..............
I am an Older fellow so owned a HUGE number of Performance cars over my years.

I don't even recall how many of the exact name of the models of Audi's I've owned over the years.
Below is the last RS-3 I special-Ordered and before it I had a couple of Bright-Red Audi RS-4s. .............
There's not enough room on this internet site for me to post even some of the Performance Cars I've had.

The Audi of Nashville GM & my Salesman.

My salesman ................

Well at the time I felt like I was a Very-very Super-Lucky fellow to have had it.
And surely was as usual going to keep it. LOL !!!
It didn't last long .................
Back in those days I was referred to as a (Car-Whore) by the Nashville Dealers.
I went through cars before I could even receive the Custom-Ordered-License-Plates or the State-Farm Insurance proof of Insurance Cards. LOL !!!

I had a couple of the ZR-1 Bright Red Corvettes they were back then the $hit.

Super -Fun-Times and Lots & lots of fun,
Terry

I worked my **** off for a lot of years , a long time to get a car a really wanted and even then it was used but i loved it all the same.
when I managed to get it it was brilliant, did all by myself , no finance etc , just hard slog and saving.
Changing hands now for £40k plus .

I can honestly say I have two weak spots when comes to cars and bikes.
I just have a passion for Porsches and ducati's , drawn to them like a moth to a flame , sadly not much to left show on that front these days.:sadlike:
but they live on my memories :yahoo:

LOVE! It's what it's all about, Rob. We ran our 1971 Lotus Elan Sprint for 37-years and I'm oh so tempted to get it back, I know where it is:
