Hi!
I recently drove pretty hard and missed a shift at over 6k RPM and since then its been sounding like straight cut gears (reverse) even when
going forward on all 6 gears, its not loud but its there and its both annoying and scary if something might give up eventually.
A couple months ago i did swap the fluid in the front diff, rear diff & gearbox to Redline Heavy Shockproof if that could have taken its toll on the gearbox
over time? I have used this oil in previous cars even Audis without problems though.
I drive very hard daily, 6-7k RPM and full boost every single time im in the car is normal.
It is slightly tuned about 320hp at the moment, i intend to go for about 400HP later when i can afford the upgrades and the tune.
The car runs perfect apart from this noise and the shifting is smooth with no problems, however i got a feeling i might want to get a second gearbox
and refurbish that one for when i upgrade my clutch later, maybe someone has tips for upgrading gearbox, i am a handy person with access to a good workshop
i can rebuild one myself and swap it later, did all the work myself so far on the car Timing Belt/Timing Chain/Intake Carbon Cleaning/Brakes/Oil Pickup Pipe/Cam Follower/Balance Shaft Freewheel etc.
There is no whining sound when accelerating standing still, or engaging the clutch while moving, only when the driveline is engaged.
Is this a normal problem with these gearboxes, and what has even happened you think?
I have already tried to shim the shaft at the front left wheel as seen in many videos, but there is no movement on that shaft i cant fit a single shim its solid.
Any tips you experienced guys can give would be amazing, thanks!
