Hi guys, I have a very strong fuel smell coming out of the engine whenever it is running. The smell is more noticeable when it is idling compared to having it at 2000rpm. The smell is most noticeable under the bonnet but because of that it also gets into the cabin air vents when it's in the fresh air mode. It started when my mechanic changed the rocket cover gasket and he didn't know what it could've been until he realised that one of the air pipes is damaged. He said it's the pipe that has the air which then mixes with the fuel causing the engine to take the same amount of petrol with much less air. I have pictures below in case I'm wrong but could someone advise if this could be the case before i start splashing out a lot of money. I have a 1.4tfsi 150bhpThank you
