Hi,

So I picked up my S3 Vorsprung today but am baffled as to where I put my SIM card I removed from my Q3. Anyone help. Thinking you can’t actually put one in as there is an embedded SIM, which I may have to pay to use? Any ideas?

Thanks

You think right. The car has an embedded eSIM. Most services are free for the first few years (navigation, news, weather, etc): there is a paid subscription for the high bandwidth options like internet radio and wi-fi hotspot.

Thank you, I had a feeling that was the case. Well at least I can cancel this sim now.

Good Morning,

lovely car obviously RichK :)

I was deciding to get a data plan from Cubic to try the online radio out as the price has dropped a load since i last looked.
I think it was something like 115 Euros for 25GB and now it's 34,95 Euros.

Anyhow i registered through my Audi app to the Cubic website and when you do so you get 3GB as a welcome gift which i just activated for free, just in case anyone else wants to test it.

25GB is not a lot so i'm eager to see how long 3GB will last listening to online radio.

In the newer Audi models like the S3, there’s indeed an embedded SIM (eSIM), which is why you might not find a traditional SIM card slot. You’re right, it may require a separate plan or activation to use, and you could need to pay for the data service. I had a similar situation with my last car, and once I activated the eSIM, everything worked fine.

If you’re ever in a pinch and need a quick verification for something, I’ve used temporary phone numbers before to get things done without hassle. It was super convenient when I was testing some services without wanting to use my personal number.
