My 2006 (56) A4 Sline 2.0 TFSI lost oil pressure last week, I went a mile to get off Mway and I've had it towed home, lucky I just got back into the UK from a trip to Belgium. The engine still turns over but very rattly. BUL engine. 140,000 miles, well serviced and otherwise lovely condition. I have the use of another car so I can either sell it as spares or repair (ebay?) or engine rebuild or replacement?. My local mechanic quoted £2000 odd for new engine with new clutch but wasn't confident and advised against as not his specialty I dont think. I like the car, but maybe its time to say goodbye. How much might I expect if I sell if as spares or repair or is a rebuild possible?. Thanks for your wisdom.

Everything is fixable, How much do you love the car and is the rest of the car in condition worth saving?
e.g. If the rest of your car is in rough shape, it'd be cheaper to buy another B7 at this point and sell the remainder of yours for parts
All depends on what you'd prefer and how quickly you need it resolved

At that mileage without issues and in great nick you could get and depending on history 3-3.5k
Oil pressure issues will scare potential buyers off who know anything about the b7 ..there maybe exceptions
Wheels/interior/bumpers unaffected under bonnet parts could see you earn more than 2k but it’s the breaking process and the patience that involves that needs weighing up
A tidy b7 still turns the head ,hate to hear of loses but we can’t fight age

HI thanks for the replies. Its not a quattro no. I havent deceide what to do with it yet, its in great shape otherwise, lovely car, but I think at this point I may just have to list on ebay for spare/repair , perhaps expect £1k?
