Ticking sound s3 8l

I have a ticking sound coming from the black bottle thing next to the power steering bottle can anyone tell me what would cause this?

It's supposed to tick breather valve solenoid so nothing to worry about worry when it stops ticking.The black thing is a charcoal cannister.

Hi thanks for getting back to me. it is a very very loud tick that doesn't sound healthy I can hear it with the bonnet shut from far away

As above, charcoal canister, they do click, but only way to check of it's got an issue is to try another.

Yeah they do tick at idle.

You should not be able to hear it from inside the cabin. Outside you’ll hear a gentle ticking (almost like a clicking sound). About four clicks per second. Nothing to worry about.
