RS3 Build Tracker Spreadsheet

Dealer update this morning confirmed car still showing as On Ship. All of their cars come in through Grimsby, so the only ship to leave Emden over the weekend for Grimsby was the 'Main Highway'. It's been up and down the coast of Norfolk all night presumably waiting for better weather to dock but it's heading back now and due to dock for 6pm tonight.

I wouldn't be surprised if your car is here, dealers faffing about as usual, probably at the pdi centre!

Just found my order number 31582 hope that helps with the spreadsheet? Is there a way to login to Audi and see which stage my order is at? I had one when i ordered my Golf R.
Hi Kevmoz, thanks, updated the spreadsheet. The system to track orders was shut down early in 2021, with statements of it being refreshed with no date stated as to when it may be back online. My guess, is with the unpredictability of chips and covid-19, it may remain offline. The factory order system is visible to the dealers, however, wrt to RS3 orders, has been uninformative.

I know my sales guy on a personal level so know for sure it's still on the boat. They also don't get paid until after the car is delivered to you so they've no business keeping things behind :p

Got a email today from Brighton Audi .....basically saying I am the new Sales Person taking over from the last one, still no scheduled build week as of yet ....which of course is understandable ....it being a NON MINION colour ...lol they're saving the best till last.....lol but l did ask for my assigned order number

There’s a Kemora Grey Vorsprung at Finchley Road Audi no idea how much they are trying to fleece someone for it though.

@RS03???

order number for mine is 32027.

I think you were correct in your assumptions of the first 2 digits of the order number being the year. My previous order of an 8V FL S3 started with 26 and that was ordered in 2016.

Updated Thanks. If the last 4 digits are sequential, then a max of 9999 orders a week, guess, just for Audi UK.

Initial Impressions

I drove it back during rush hour unfortunately on boring A roads but from what I have seen so far the whole car seems a lot more refined than the 8V and I really mean A LOT more refined. The suspension is an absolute game changer. Even in RS Performance mode its pretty damn comfortable. You can definitely feel more through the wheel than before. The MMI is great, very responsive and fluid. I sat in Tesco car park for twenty minutes registering it and trying to find where all the options are hiding. The HUD is super clear and bright enough in direct sunlight. Sound system is definitely better. 3D audio sounds ace, but maybe not to everyones liking. I already love the round steering wheel. I didn't think I would but I'm super happy with it!

Some slight annoyances (just things to get used to). It seems lane guidance is on my default. You have to press and hold the left stalk button to deactivate. There might be an option to have it off by default (need to spend more time in the car settings).
The car is definitely quieter. We all knew it would be, and I definitely think there's some audio being pumped into the cabin. That being said the engine note is meatier and gruntier. When you do open up it sounds absolutely top notch.
The Piano black console is already grubby with fingerprint marks.
I'm already missing the original gear lever. I think I used that more to change gear than the paddles and I keep reaching for it. It's been said before but unless you're in RS Individual or RS Performance modes then it will revert back to Auto after a while (having used the paddles).

Overall sounds really positive. Good to hear about the HUD as this will be my first car with one. Does it gives you revs/shift light?

You can’t change the lane assist to default off, you have to get something like this:

Ummm I can't actually remember what was in front of me :tearsofjoy:. I was a little giddy on the way back and was trying my hardest not to drive into any fallen trees. I didn't look at the HUD settings other than adjust the height of the HUD. Will have a better play around tomorrow. Thanks for the OBD link, will take a look!

Yeah that's fair enough mate. I was worried about them after I had ordered. I was somewhat pressured by the animal loving other half. They aren't so bad in person and very comfy!

At least it looks like Health and Safety didnt go berserk after the USA bound Ship that caught fire last Wednesday and is still burning apparently.

I honestly thought that would have a huge impact on future sailings. I used to work in the Nuclear Industry and the after effects of any incident ( eg the Tsunami that hit the Japanese Fukishama Plant ) had massive repercussions on us and the way we worked

You get shift lights in RS Performance, maybe Individual too. Otherwise you get speed, speed limit sign, and some assist icons like lane guidance/cruise/"too close"/efficiency suggestion (the take-your-foot-off-the-power one).

First job for me that one, Play around with VCDS and see if I can alter it to 'remember last setting'

For those thinking of the Kufatec coding dongle it 'may' be worth looking at OBD 11, it's quite well priced and is also useful after the Lane assist has been dealt with, I know the owners of Mk8 Golf R have been able to turn the Lane assist to 'Remember last setting' with it
Disclaimer...............Doesnt mean it will work on the RS3 though :)

Yeah I’m pretty sure you can’t with OBD11 which is why they offer this dongle. Don’t quote me on that one though!
