I ordered exactly 4 months ago today still no build week I'll be lucky to see the car this year it'll probably end up being a MY23 model ....who cares not me ....

I don't think it has anything to do with how big the dealer is, by the looks of it they write order numbers down on a piece of paper stick them into a hat and randomly pull one out

I did this same research before I ordered and went with Jardine, for the same assumptions made above. Despite having negative customer experiences with a different branch of theirs.

Mine is from Marshall Coulsdon. I think I’ve just been lucky in that they were building a batch of a spec like mine now. When I ordered in Nov they were estimating late summer.

Nah just like the estimated handover date from the dealer. They’re giving me updates every month though and have said this week that it’s now looking more like August
Looks like i was lied to too. Ordered start of august when books opened. Originally told BW20 which was awful, then changed to 18 he said. I then 4 times over the case of a week or 2 asked for my custon order forum screenshot as i never once had one but got no reply. Then phoned the dealership to ask to speak to someone else who told me its BW25. Then low and behold the same day he messaged saying bad news its just changed to 25 and sent me my forum. Seems to me like the news got back to him so he made that up. ****** joke considering i had been told it was Dec/Jan delivery. Yes i knew it would never be that soon but i thought around Feb/March. Not ****** july delivery!!
Ordered a Tango Red Sportback in W45, recently got told on the phone that my order got BW9 surprisingly. As it’s ordered in Norway we don’t have the various editions, but everything possible is optioned except ceramics, spoiler and the driver assist thing - to keep the flat bottom.
He had to exclude inductive charging though, otherwise I could not get any BW at all for the time being, because of the shortage. Which is fine for me if I can get it this “quickly”.

Seems the Build weeks allocated for your order does not apply for the RS3's. To me its being built on batches of similar variants. Added a Obs tab on what we have observed so far.
Generally being advised, Car is built and is being sent to port for shipment,
In essence:
Tail end of November into Dec, Carbon variant's and Saloons mainly.
Start of Feb: Vorsprung x 7 built and ready to be shipped. Saloons mainly.
Almost implying parts for Sportback are still limited, and not too many Daytona Grey cars either.

I think I’m in the same boat as you I phoned about 3 weeks ago and got told bw34 which I wasn’t to impressed with but not to worry. Emailed the salesman twice last week for a copy of the build sheet with no reply phoned on Thursday and he told me he would send it to me surprise surprise he didn’t so phoned on Saturday and spoke to another salesman and he told me he can see my order but can’t see the build week so he said he would get the salesman to email me it on Monday so if it’s not there on Monday I’m going down past the dealer that I ordered it from on Tuesday so I will be calling in and asking a few questions
Similar here, 1K deposit start of August. Full deposit on order on opening week. Estimate of Nov, which, I said unlikely, probably Jan/Feb. Still no Build week announced, yet later orders have build week on system.
Now it appears, cars are built by specific variant fitting a batch, its all over the place, rather than when ordered or build-week given. Last Monday 6 or 7 members who have ordered Vorsprung were informed "Cars Built" and now left the factory to be shipped. Most of them Saloon(s). Sportsback just 1.
Certain, the dealers are no wiser than us on what is happening with orders and being informed once the car is built so any build-weeks stated when we ordered are meaningless. On the Vorsprungs Saloon's being shipped, it seems to be following date order.
Just hoping the next batch will be in 6 or 8 weeks time, by the pattern of what has happened so far, fingers crossed Sportsback and Vorsprung.

Didn't some member who's ordered a car in a exclusive paint say he's got a build week in April.....that's a good bit left field as lot sources have said they will not be built till the last quarter of 2022
Not unless, there is another formula in-play where each dealer/franchise is also allocated slots. Exclusive Paint is another variable, not unless there was a tin already in stock.
Just noticed, for those early orders in week 32, where no build week was given or stated on the system, which there are 2 who have ordered Vorsprung Saloons, they have been skipped over on the latest batch of deliveries. Something is very iffy.
Shouldnt that be 2 ? and dont forget that not everyone that has ordered a car will be on here

It's very odd how orders are allocated, dealers 'may' have a quota available, that could be x number of RS3's, or x number of RS3 saloon and x number sportback, or maybe x numbers of RS cars, there could also be a franchise quota?
As for the dealers knowing what is happening or not, they are also doing a lot of ar*e covering at the moment as well, my dealers 'demo' car has never appeared and apparently isnt going to appear at all, the story is it was taken off them to give it to another dealer, most probably one in the same franchise with a customer prepared to pay over the top

That'll mean I need to go and have a nose in my supplying dealer and see if mine is there, and then 'if' it is there follow up with an email to the dealer which will result in a reply ''I was just about to email you''........................
