I watched this yesterday actually. He seemed to really enjoy it and the car seemed to do well overall, I just don't feel like it was as fast as I'd expect for a 600+ bhp RS3 when he opened it up. That aside, it was fun watching him fly past other cars that you'd expect to be faster. :)
Yeah he did mention the turbo lag and where it kicked in was later than the stock car. But i guess once you're above 100 lots of other factors come in. Also i'm guessing my old 650bhp GTR would probably be faster because of the bigger engine, and greater area under the curve (i'm only guessing). But saying all that...i'd be happy with 650bhp in the RS3!

That E92 M3 was incredible. Made me think I should have kept mine and learned how to drive it properly :tearsofjoy:

I see TR Hamza on YouTube has a new RS3 Vorsprung and is starting the modification process. He’s very impressed with the way it drives and power delivery. It’ll be interesting following his progress especially as he is such an in-line 5 fan.

Surprised by that to be honest.

That being said, I think that there could be a good chunk of time saved by the RS3 if it was on the Michellin PS4S's like the A45. Those Pirelli's aren't exactly renowned for being good in the wet/cool.
I thought tyres as well, unless they are on the same tyre a little pointless tbh

I think there was a bit of a dry line developing by the time the A45 went round, but I think we all know the Pirellis are particularly pants in the wet this time of year. Hell will freeze over before I replace my PS4Ss with Pirellis, even the correct ones.

I looked hard at the CLA45S but something not right about that engine and if you look around there are quite a few with low power and other issues. That engine can't give a whole lot more either which tells you a lot.

Also interesting how opinions about the bucket seats differ in recent reviews. Joe Achilles and some others praised them and told to definitely have them unless it's your everyday car. Thomas from Autogefühl said several times in one review how they're very uncomfortable and the seat part is too much tilted, somehow good for track use but unbearable for anything else.

I've had both and traded an A45 to get the 8Y.
The result doesn't surprise me tbh .... ON THE TRACK !

The A45 I found needed to thrashed and red lined to make it exciting, which on public roads you struggle to do.
If you can bang it through the gears on track I can imagine it would be fantastic and then the engine / exhaust does come to life too.
It also felt a very nimble car in terms of handling.

Sadly I found that did not translate to a good or exciting car as a daily.
The 4 pot engine sounded like a dyson, there was literally NO SOUND whatsoever driving around town a to b and nothing even on start up.
The seats were again fantastic for supportive fast driving but around town not so much - so the comment on the RS3's buckets being uncomfortable could well be a factor vs the standard regular seats.

I can understand the attraction of getting the buckets to lift the interior but I'd definitely want to sit in them before ordering.

Regardless of what Plato says, on reflection I still personally preferred the RS3.
