Does anyone have any experience with fitting an aftermarket headunit into the s3's? Got power just don't have any sound, also I think I've bought the wrong harness as I've realised now that I've got a bose amp in the boot just doesn't say bose on the speakers. I've been to halfords but they are unsure which harness I need, does anyone know what harness I do need or if I can modify this one somehow to get sound?

Hi, I would recommend going to a proper car audio shop. I got mine from Bass Junkies in wolverhampton. You might want to give them a call.

There are different adaptors dependant on whether you have no Bose, half Bose or full Bose fitted in the car...sorry but I don't know which one you need. Normally you will also need to put an ignition switched live feed to the headunit as the standard radio uses canbus signal.

Went back to halfords and have now bought the full bose harness. From reading other threads on here I have connected the remote wire from the harness to the power antenna wire which then feeds into the head unit.

All speakers now have sound but the sub does not.

If the sub is not turning on you likely have an issue with it not getting power from the remote-on wire. Do you know if the sub has power or not, in which case the problem then I would guess is that it’s not producing sound.

The wiring connecting block that plugs into the rear of the Bose sub has a solid blue coloured wire which is remote on. The brown wire is Earth. Put a multimeter on those two pins to verify you have power and go from there.

Okay will give that a try, thanks!

If you turn on the radio, the remote blue wire should give you a 12v reading
