Hi,

Just had my crankshaft pulley along with the belt gone off near a petrol station, I had my car recovered to my drive next to my house but I am wondering what would be the expenses to get this fixed and if it's worth it instead of buying a new one.

It has basically fallen off on the ground... and there was the belt hanging as well under my bonnet, photos attached.

I was wondering, do you guys know how much would it take me to repair this here in UK?

I've got 3.0 TDI Quattro

Appreciate the help

You cannot repair it, the only option is to buy a new one. It's a common failure item on the 3.0TDI.

This happened to my 2008 3.0TDI Allroad a couple of years ago. I had it fixed in France by Audi and it cost about 2,000 Euros. Hope this helps.
That's extortionate, even if you include a new belt the retail price of parts from an Audi main dealer is under 400€ in parts, so that's a massive 1600€ labour, and you don't even need to remove the slam panel or bumper.

Help please this is my first time posting just got a 2008 a5 3.0tdi. Only just got the car a few days ok been driving lovely was very happy with the car. Yesterday I pulled up at home noticed the car is making a clunk/rattling sound. Had a look at the engine with thr car running and the crankshaft pulley is wobbling. Ordered a new one and bolts, coming tomorrow hoping to fit this weekend. Seen a vid on YouTube where the person uses a special bolt that goes into the sump to lock the cam in place. Surely thus must be for something else, do you not just unbolt it then bolt the new one on. Any help greatly appreciated.
