Hi all.
I have a 11 plate A3 tdi Sline.
the past 2 months or so the DPF light has popped up on the dash! I’ve done the usual procedure, blast down the motorway and even used Redex filter cleaner!
Now it seems to be regular that the DPF light comes on....the car is terrible and judders bad!
I’ve looked into it on how I could stop this happy but I think due to its age, the DPF filter is at that stage where it will always come on unless manually cleaned.....85%!

I’m going to get the DPF off and get it cleaned, just asking is there any long term issues I should consider or will it be like a new Filter ☺️

Thanks all

Depends what kind of driving you do. Lots of short journeys, stop start journeys and journeys where the engine doesn’t get up to full temp are killers.

@evoy2k2 can you please share on how you planning to clean it? Fireplace cleaner?
I believe if DPF is clogged with burned ash deposits then homemade methods might not be as effective as you plan.
I would love to have my DPF cleaned like on this video

The pressure unclogs even ash "plugs" created by DPF regeneration procedure during normal motorway ride.

I do the odd short journey here and there but I do motorway miles 3 times per week!

I think the DPF has got to that stage where it’s always going to appear on the dash because of its age etc

I’ve been told it can be blasted out with high pressure shot blaster of some sort! All I was told is that it can be done.....just the ball ache of taking parts off to get to it

Thats the problem with the A3.....actually getting the DPF off...........my lights come back on after i used to clear it by ragging it for 5/6 miles........just wont do it this time......the coil light has come on as well and its gone into limp mode.....i disconected the dpf sensor and the coil light has gone off and the cars going well......cant be good and waiting for a big bang when the exhaust fumes cant get thru at all........past caring TBH.
