Hi All,

I bought a black Ultra recently which as you know has a relatively basic spec, inside the car, under the hood and on the exterior.

I got a great deal on it, and it drives well, which is why I went ahead with it in the end. But I wanted to know how easy/cheap it would be to upgrade to leather seats, and whether or not it would be seen as too 'wannabe' if I did a chrome delete on it.
I have also been considering a stage 1 remap and the s-line front number and rear, but wouldn't be able to do those just yet.

I wouldn't add any badges but do like the more aggressive look of them and unfortunately the price on the ultra was too good to pass up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, apologies if I've posted in the wrong area or we've had this before.

Welcome to Audi-sport.net.

The leather seats I’m sure are a straight swap if you find one which matches your current, presumably manual seats.

What car did you come from?

The Sport and S line trims are remarkably similar from the front, to a non car person they’d probably look the same.

If you want to make your car look less typical, add some side skirts like the S line trim ones and change the nasty standard rear lights, (presume you have non LED lights at the back)
Tint your rear windows slightly, and change the boring 17s that come with the car.

I wouldn’t bother with blacking out the trim, I think the silver gives it a more expensive look, especially the silver trim that is on the boot lid of facelift models.

Congrats on the new purchase - hope it brings you lots of joy.

I also have a b9 ultra - red. Have owned it just about a year now!

Leather seats for me are great especially when doing long distances and they are v comfortable compared to the normal cloth ones imo. They do need to be cleaned though because with 50k on the clock you can clearly see the jean/trouser/*** marks from sitting on them hahah! Just something to bear in mind - a bit more maintenance.

I will be doing a chrome delete at some point - wrap in gloss black to make it look like a black edition (couldn't find a black edition spec that I wanted). Totals cost is about £394 I have been quoted and then tints will be separate. I will get it done but not urgently. Think the silver looks better in colder/darker months but the black stands out in the summer and looks that bit more aggressive in sunny weather.

Will get round to it but enjoy the vehicle as it is right now. Plus I guess it will protect the silver trim and I can always take it off after a few years if I do not like it/get bored!

Lmk how you get on. Interested since I am in similar position

I came from a 1 series, and was always a hatchback person before that.
Will look into side skirts and rear lights.

Regarding the 17s, have you had experience in changing the size? There's room to go up to 19s but it will effect the drive a bit I imagine.

Thanks for your reply! :)

Thank you for your reply
Ahhh perfect, I'm actually contemplating doing the chrome delete myself. The wrap for the trims is only about £20 and I figured i could try it out and if I don't like it I can always peel it off.
Reason I'm not keen on paying for it, is I've seen other people's start to peel off after a while and I'd rather DIY and top it up as and when I need to.
