Evening all, haven't seen any posts on here but with some research, communication with Audi UK and now updates on my order I've got confirmation that the S4 TDI engine will be revised from Jan onwards to meet the new emissions tests. It mirrors the new sq5 engine which was in the media last month.

Key figures are 6ps down to 341ps, with 700nm still but with an expanded rev range from 1,750-3,250 and the audi.de site suggests a .2 second improvement in 0-62.

Changes are different piston material water to air intercooler, smaller turbine, better insulated manifold and more assistance from electric compressor.

All sounds fairly good, I've had an order sat waiting on code 10 since August and it's finally gone to build week with the 341ps spec but with a week 21 date, emissions standards messing up delivery. Audi UK confirmed new engine going into production from mid January onwards.

Hopefully eliminate some of the turbo lag issues the reviewers talked about, anyone else seen any details on the new s diesel lump?

I know that the point of an S4 isn't good fuel economy but thought I would share a long trip real world economy figure, A roads including some overtakes, through the centre of a town and then M1, M25 and M3 on a Sunday afternoon so plenty of traffic. Good figures for me this was how I could live with an S4 compared to Petrol, different beast but a good overall daily!

That’s good news Rich, same for me - I know the new Diesel engine has divided opinion but it has made it a viable option for me to use for work.
Mine has been sat at code 10 since December but every two weeks when I get an update from the dealer the (still unconfirmed) build week moves onwards by two or three weeks. Currently bw 12, I’m now wondering if I might end up with a B10 at this rate!

I've had mine for 14 months now and absolutely love the car. I travel from Cheshire to Cornwall regularly and average over 48mpg.
