Hi guys.
Been feeling the itch to change cars for a few months now..I have been looking at Dicovery sports but can't bring myself to buy one due to the drop in bhp on my current car.So been looking for something that ticks a few boxes and have bought a Seat Cupra Ateca in Ice Silver. I have a couple of screenshots of it on my phone but can't upload as file too large. If anyone can show me how then I will gladly upload pics.
ps It hasn't actually arrived yet. Should be middle of next week

I looked at one before getting the SQ5 and was sorely tempted...even toyed with the idea of getting one of the limited edition akropovic ones but sadly even the man maths wouldn't work out for me.
Congrats on the purchase, a lot of car and a rare sight!

Thanks mate. Yeah quite rare. There are only 40 used ones on Autotrader at the moment.I hadn't even realized till last week that they made one...Been looking at Disco Sports but never pulled the trigger on one as I know I will miss the power of my S3.

Yeah over 40k for a spec'd up one..To be fair you get a lot of car for that money...To get anything similar to performance ect in the suv market you are looking at either Porche Macan S or an Audi SQ5..They ain't cheap.

Unfortunately not new...It's a 19 plate one owner from new. As for my car I got offered a decent price I was well happy with Paid cash with the rest. I really didn't want to do finance on a car at the moment...An suv with similar performance to an almost 5 year old S3 with little cash on top...I'm happy with that

The Audi with all the visual dispalys looks amazing.

I looked at the Cupra Ateca before they came out and fancied one but then ended up with my current S3 as I got fed up waiting. Was thinking about a Tiguan R but I reckon they’ll be close to £50k when they come out which I’m not sure I can justify for a VW.

Currently pondering over just getting rid of my S3 now while it’s still worth a decent amount and getting the diesel S4.

Wouldn't be my choice, with my allergy to SUVs, but a good decision. Well done for not joining the ranks of pretentious range rover owners.

I wasn't agreeing with you! Audis are full of plastic too. I would rather have a "basic screen" than the oh so pompously named virtual cockpit.

All I can say is the dash display is way more advanced than on my 2015 S3. I should know I have had it for over 4 years....I'm more than happy with it.
As for paying over £43000 for it I would agree it's a bit pricey..I personally haven't paid anywhere near that figure.

The Tiguan R should be a great car mate but yeah 50k is a bit steep. I have noticed used car prices have crept up quite a bit. Try the usual web sites and get a quote. You might be pleasantly surprised??

Ha ha You have no idea how close I was going to be with that crowd. The reliability issues of that brand put me off plus the poor choice of under powered engines...Mainly diesels

I really like it mate fantastic colour as well as for the negative comments well People in glass houses......etc etc....l hope you've seen the car in person never ever buy a car without ....even in these paranoia filled times

The £43k akrapovic one linked is a very limited run model which for some is enough to justufy paying the extra and on a pcp/lease it may make more sense.
Nothing wrong with the dash either, its nicer than my SQ5 which I paid very similar money for over the Ateca.
When I was looking there were no deals on new ones or were there any used available.
I'd definitely still have one now.....especially with the abt upgrade

And its not a Seat......Its a Cupra lol

You are right. There are bargains to be had at the moment. You can get over 3k off a new Cupra Ateca at the moment and that's just the dealer discount. Once you have sorted your spec you can still negotiate more of a discount. My brother just done a deal on a Cupra Leon(hence my impulse purchase of the Ateca ) and we managed to get just over 12% discount on an already reduced screen price.
ps No monthlies to work out for me....Pheeeew! lol

Hi mate..Haven't got a quote yet as I haven't got the exact date of del. My current insurance on my S3 is only £260 give or take a few quid. Full no claims legal ect.
I should imagine the Ateca would be cheaper???? The road tax surprised me some what. Only £150

£260 is good, think my last S3 price was £282 in 2017, the A5 was more to insure!!! Apparently it's not just on power, it's on repair costs!

The price isn't really relevant if paying on finance. You could say 150K on a car is a joke, unless you can afford it.
I could get into an Ateca well within my desired monthlies so its fine. The actual RRP is neither here or there on PCP because I'll never be paying it in full.
I've seen someone pay north of £60K for an RS3. Fast yes, noisy yes. It's still an A3 all said and done. I'd consider that a joke but if they can afford it.....
