Hi All,

I'm looking for some guidance, back in December my left Xenon Blew on my 2002 8L S3, after investigation I found the ballast had blown also and the fuse. I decided to replace with a set of the Bi-xenon lights from Trups, I have fitted them and they are as described "plug and play".

But the left lamp won't light for either the dipped or main beam and it displays on the auto check as a bulb out, side light turn on but nothing to the main light.
I have tried the dash light switch and also the stalk on the column, checked the fuses and the fuse box. Is there anything I'm missing.

I was told the stalk on the steering column has the relays built in (separate relays for both driver and passenger lights) and may have blown but I had it checked today with no success. All the diagrams are pretty unclear, am i going to have to pony up and go to Audi, Please help as I need it sorted for the next MOT in November.

Swap the DS2 bulbs over... see if the known working one works in the not working side and vive versa... that way you can see if the bulb works and/or the ballast works

First thing i did was to try the passenger light on the right hand side and the drivers light on the left and the passenger light worked on the driver side wiring but the drivers side light didn't work on the passenger side. Looks like a electrical specialist, I might just bite the bullet and have them run new surface wires to the headlamp and hope it doesn't annoy the autocheck.

Try a multimeter on the original wires to check for continuity, look for any obvious burnout etc may a connector plug problem do you have the old unit to wire up the good one that is? before you try a specialist.
