Hi all, I'm wanting to clean the EGR out on my 2010 A4 2.0 TDI, it's the CAGA engine. Reason being sometimes get a bit of a judder when turning the engine off, that and it feels a bit flat when setting off in first...

I've seen posts on various forums on how to do it/what's needed but I think they were for B7's. Does anyone know what gaskets I need in particular or even better have a link to somewhere I can buy them (UK)?

I guess the only other things I need are some carb cleaner and tools... not sure what size sockets I need though...

Any help greatly appreciated!

It's dead easy, if I remember right there's only 3 torx bolts, just take them off and then you can take the ASV (anti shudder valve) and th EGR valve off.

Mines the same engine CAGA and same year, I did mine at around 90K miles and it was pretty dirty, just use petrol and a toothbrush and I had to use a flat head screwdriver on some of the carbon it was that hard.

New gaskets aren't needed just clean and re use the old ones unless they are obviously worn and need renewing.

Nice, I'll try and see if I can do it in my dinner hour at work tomorrow!

Got a paraffin bath at work so will try cleaning it in there. Did you notice any improvement after you did yours?

Yeah you should be able to it's straight forwards just a bit mucky.

I had no issues before, I was changing the thermostat so I removed it for better access so I just cleaned them up as a bit of preventive maintenance.

I'll try and find a before and after pic if I took one
