Dim DRL Light

One of my DRL lights (drivers side) is noticeably a lot dimmer than the other. It was working fine from what I can remember but has suddenly gone. No warning lights on my dash or anything.

Anyone come across this before?

Noticed it about 8 weeks ago on mine, the passenger side front one seems dimmer, almost yellow. Took it to AUdi, no idea what it is but wanted to have a look

Had it booked in for April 2nd.... well, it was meant to be!
Online reading suggested it might be a ballast fault?

Yeah very strange sounds exactly the same as my issue. Being LED they shouldn't be failing this early on. I'm just hoping I dont have to replace the whole assembly! Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I'll have to be making an appointment to after all this is over.

No not yet. I'm still adamant it's a ballast issue after looking online but I havent got it booked in yet as I'm dreading the worst outcome and currently dont have the funds to get sorted. Cars not under warranty either so I'm sure audi will be wanting to replace the whole fittment £££. Let me know how you get on with your pal, I'll be interested to hear what the outcome is.

Took mine in yesterday ran a diagnostics and found it's the LED drivers. Just waiting to hear back from them to get it sorted. Have you had luck with yours?

Likewise took it in, they reckoned it was water ingress, either into the ballast or the light. Unfortunately, no argument over warranty. They've got the car for a while though, also asked them to look at the traction control light coming on under acceleration, turned out to be a faulty Haldex pump. That's a rather large bill covered by warranty thankfully, but means they'll have the car until Thursday/Friday this week - not that I'm compplaining! I was intending to get the Haldex cleaned and serviced in the coming months anyway (2017, 21k miles) so they've saved me £200 there.

Hopefully you can get a good result at your end!

i have the same issue , halfords told me i need to buy new headlight £ 1000. + A3 1.6 tdi 2016, HELP
